Torrington High School Class of 2024

Dear Parents/Guardians of Torrington High School Class of 2024,

The evening you have all been waiting for is fast approaching. On June 14, 2024, promptly at 6:00 p.m., we will begin our processional into the Warner Theatre for the 2024 graduation ceremonies. This is an exciting occasion that celebrates your child's successful completion of graduation requirements. This ceremony will be the culminating memory of high school. We ask you to assist us in maintaining the dignity of this occasion by supporting the following:

• In order to participate in the graduation ceremony, all students must order their cap and gown online. The last day to order is 04/1/24. You can find the link on the first page of the THS webpage, Google Classroom, or at https://torrington.shopoakhalli.com.
• Graduates must arrive at the Warner Theatre no later than 5:15 p.m. If graduates are not in line at check-in time, they will be marked a “no-show” and not have their names called.
• Graduates must present themselves to the community as mature and dignified young adults:
  • Graduates should dress appropriately.
  • Graduates are not to attach anything to the gown. They will, however, be allowed to decorate their cap. We ask that the decorations are appropriate and in good taste.
  • Graduates are not to have food, beverages, gum, balloons, silly string, etc. in the Warner Theatre.
  • No cell phone usage by the students during the ceremony.

Any student earning the requisite credits and fulfilling the Board of Education attendance requirements is entitled to a diploma. However, it is not a guaranteed right that any student who fulfills those requirements participate in the graduation ceremony. Inappropriate behavior prior to or during the ceremony may cause a graduate to be excused from participation. In addition, students must return school property (textbooks, library books, uniforms, etc.) and settle all debts (library fines, charges for lost items, cafeteria, etc.) before tickets will be distributed.

Graduation rehearsal is mandatory and will be on Thursday June 13, 2024, from 1:00 p. m.–3:00 p. m. The rehearsal will be in the THS gymnasium. The number of tickets a student will receive is TBD.

The graduation ceremony is a ritual founded on tradition. We look forward to an evening filled with pride, joy, and wonderful memories.
